Title: corrupted zip file (hosting issue?)
Post by: hubol on December 08, 2016, 08:03:19 PM
ive been getting complaints from users of the professional software HUBOLAUNCHER that my software is unable to do proper installation/patching of my hit video game "2". it concerns me that this is not a universal issue. interestingly, when i attempt to give these users the direct link to the necessary patching files at hubolhubolhubol.com/GAMES/2.zip (http://hubolhubolhubol.com/GAMES/2.zip) their zip extraction programs complain that the file is incomplete. (analyzing log files for the patching program reveals a similar error message, the file is almost completely empty). im curious if any of you epic webhosters have ever had an issue with something weird like this. my computer doesnt complain about this file being corrupt. oddwarg deduced that this is an issue with the host, but im confused as to what course of action/investigation i should take from here. it would be helpful if everyone could attempt to download the linked file (its just the jar file + resources for 2) and post whether or not they could extract the folder manually...... ok thanks....

Actually I did notice a problem.  It seemed to skip the last 35% of the file or so during the download.  7zip throws the errors "Unexpected end of data".

While Chrome reports the file is 77.4MB, once downloaded it's 51.5MB.

the download failed twice on firefox, once at around 20mb and once at around 75mb, but let me resume each time.

once the full 77.4mb zip had downloaded, it extracted fine though

Only if you modify it in the php.ini.  Try setting the variable in .htaccess for it to instantly take effect.

This has happened a few times before and it is getting really annoying. Sometimes when I add a new file to Objects_server, Winrar will bring up the error "File being used in another process" and then completely deletes the zip file. Is there any way to recover the file?

you should probably try closing your ftp client before opening the file

Also use 7zip instead of WinRar.  I have mine configured so it's accessible via Windows shell.
