giik whats the oceanfarm game about..... are you allowed to farm anywhere? is there a game loop or is it more of a cute toy?
BASICALLY:
I'm kinda mentally dividing it into two halves: Farming and Exploring.
Farming will be the usual affair; grow things, sell things, buy upgrades, automate things. Each crop will do at least one thing that isn't just selling it for money. Customizing yourself, giving to people, useful in upgrades, and solving puzzles. There'll be multiple villages across the world with different prices on different things, so if you want to maximize profit you'll need to figure out when and where to sell it. There might be a hidden village that celebrates, i dunno, blue halloween, and if you grow blue pumpkins you'll be able to sell it then for a lot money (and maybe other rewards like cosmetics if you don't care about money.)
By solving puzzles, I mean the other half. Exploring will be across the ocean and will focus on the more lateral-thinking, secret-hunting type of puzzles. Figuring out what the missing piece to a puzzle is, what the missing knowledge is, will be what a lot of puzzles are based off of. You'll be able to uproot matured plants from your farm and plant them anywhere in the world, and certain plants will interact with the world; platform mushrooms to reach higher places, reflective plants that redirect beams of sunlight, plants that emit a tone when you poke them, bomb flowers, etc. etc. etc. Solving puzzles will let you get to new areas which might have secluded villages, new rare crops to cultivate, or upgrades to your tools.
Right now, I'm just focusing on the farming part. If the rest of the game falls flat I can just polish up that part and call it a project. I know the whole exploring the world and solving puzzles part is ambitious.
