ive been debating on whether or not to change my avatar for a while now and i feel like the new forum will finally allow me to do so........ but what to choose

We'll get going on some non-terrible themes and such in a bit. Just trying to get the old forum working nicely in a subdirectory first.
Feel free to make suggestions for themes + plugins you'd like to see added. Bonus points if it's a Canada theme.

New posts should be disabled (can somebody test?), but editing+deleting is still in for those cases where you're really afraid your future-employer is going to Google your name and oh god the shame. But try not to nuke everything, because that ruins it for everybody.

i think newsposting is available now (mouse over "main" in the admin center to reach it)
i will try 2 fix the skin on the old forum & also work on adding stuff to the new one but im not sure how much time ill have before the weekend

SMF has a terrifying plugin system. It injects third-party code directly into the source files.

i tried to add cutes but smf 2.0 still has the bug retro found where you can change something in the url to uncute someone ::) so theyre disabled until i fix that

How long does it take to get a response?

It used to be really good. <24 hours and always helpful. They later outsourced it. In one instance it took over two months to get a response. However they were apparently changing their support system over, and did help in the end. But yeah, most recent experience hasn't been very good. They've also been reducing the length of their warranties in the last year or so.

i was thinking that would be good too but the stuff in the "info center" on the main page should still be accessible somehow. maybe i can edit some stuff to make the info center appear on the subforum page?? or is there a way to make cutey.zone go to /index.php/board,1.0.html without making index.php autoredirect there?

so you may have noticed that theres a multicolor version of the curve theme now....................
im not sure what else i will do for themes......... dilber mc has a 2.x version if anyone wants that. there is a multicolor core theme for the people who like core but its 1.x only and i dont know how to port themes to 2.x, which also means i dont know how to port the old cute & cool theme....... i might make a new cute theme myself but that could take a while

alternatively, we honour our humble beginnings and rebrand as the jumper community forum 2k16 & maybe add like a dozen different subforums for every subgenre and theme of jumper editor level

hmm, i think i can "fix" the thing on curve where large newsposts break the theme if i take this image http://cutey.zone/Themes/Curve_Multi_Color/images/_pink/theme/main_block.png and just extend the bottom part really far, but because of how big the image is its extremely awkward to do this by hand & i have to do it for every color................ can anyone write a program that does this? i tried to write one in game maker but it has this cool feature where it cant save screenshots that are larger than your screen resolution

go to a non-pink curve theme, unhide the news & refresh until u get the news item with a huge comic, and u will notice the theme is broken because the graphic for the news box doesnt actually resize to fit the content or something. if u wanna try to do a proper fix go ahead but it seems like itd be annoying

doesn't seem to have any side effects, and looks alright with big pics + regular size newsposts.

What about #header {max-height: 140px;}? Just kill the footer on the news thing instead of trying to make it work. Looks nicer without it anyway IMO.

when i add this using inspect element it does what i want but when i actually add it to the css file of the theme it seems to do nothing......... i probably just dont know how css works

can u do it cook its not working...... you can edit theme css files through the admin cp under configuration > modify themes. i think i reverted all my changes to the files so they should be clean & pristine for u
in the meantime ill keep working on this horrible image extender game maker program............

news is fine in core (although the newspost text is bold for some reason, thats probably easy to change) but the menu in the admin cp is broken for non-admins

Alright, fixed bold on core.
Don't really want to make a non-admin account to figure out the styling rules on the admin CP one. From the screenshot I'd guess it's list items with a background image set on each, so we'd probably have to make a new image for only having one tab.
I'd say a non-issue. They probably just assume there's multiple tabs because why would people ever open up just news functionality to all users.
