What is A Dreamlike Story?
A Dreamlike Story is the first AUS group project conceptualized since AUSEP! It features:
-40 new areas!
-new soundtracks!
-new species of fish!
-Bosses and slime!
How is development?
We're talking original AUSEP level development. Many nerfs and spaghetti jars are needed. Which is why we're asking for new people on the team! People we have are currently:
-FlameVapour (Main Leader)
-DT
-TheGucc (me)
-Random-Storykeeper
-Rare Pickle
We pretty much only need programmers, more MIDI makers and maybe BGS drawers as we only have like one boss lol.
What do the areas look like at the moment?
Terrible. Like catsick in a spaghetti jar. However, plans have been made to redraw the areas. We are slowly improving!! (Take NightZone, DryLands, SlimeSwamp for example).
So gimme a jingle if you're interested! We mainly use very old Game Maker 8 and I'm assuming everyone here uses GM studio or something equally as fancy.

i like the eel in the first video, the new music in the second video is cool
i cant go back to anvil studio MIDI or programming in game maker and i dont think i care much for the untitled visual aesthetic anymore. basically i probably wont help but i can be a cutey little cheerleader :dancedog:

Most of them are pretty much filler lol, we're still working on shortening the amount of areas!!

im guessing it was the kind of thing where people were just comin up with random area names all day like

and they came up with 40+ areas and now they have to figure out which ones are actually worth implementing

wow ausep has 44 areas if i counted right. i guess thats just a normal size for aus fangames

truer, at least most of those areas aren't really all that filler (hell most of them have a boss)

the thing that kills me about those ausep maps is they bothered to make the lil room connections lol

f'real though this definitely looks like
well it looks like a project alright
i can't really say anything about the quality of what's goin' on so far, it's still early so i don't expect the areas to be all that fleshed out
but it just kinda seems like things are just there to be there and not really provide anything interesting or challenging
good luck though, not sure if modding the original game will make things any easier or harder considering how outdated GM7 is, porting it to GMS is probably gonna break half of the things in the game

we probably won't anything super fancy to the game, it's most likely just going to follow the main algorithm of aus

also we operate in gm8 lol
like i said, development is very similar to ausep was, we're working on it!
