hey with all the aus talk i wanted to make a post about skyline so it isnt lost and forgotten forever..... i dont think its available on the internet anymore now that the yoyo games sandbox is gone
its a cute game that is clearly very inspired by aus to the point of stealing music from it..... it is a lot less polished then aus and its also in korean so it is a bit hard to figure out what to do at some points. however its very cute and i think definitely worth playing for aus fans
if you get stuck try talking to all the npcs, even though the text will probably display as gibberish unless you have a korean computer or language pack or something. i think theres at least one point where you have to talk to some random npc in some weird place and pay them a certain number of currency to progress that took me a while to figure out. i managed to beat the game but it was years ago so i dont remember very much

i actually really liked this game's aesthetics! i wasnt very good at it though, i should totally play it. im pretty sure its impossible to finish or something, i got "room doesnt exist" errors in the haunted mansion zone or something

im pretty sure its beatable, i have an old save file thats at the ending (at least i think its the ending, theres like a big cute party with all the characters in the town area)
if everyone else gets stuck i might try to replay it & write a walkthru.....

i think part of why i find it so charming is that its like a not very good version of aus.....
and it feels so earnest that i feel bad about calling it not very good....

i think i feel uncomfortable calling this game "bad" because i find it very enjoyable and cute. its "bad" in the sense of common standards for "good game design" but i dont always like to judge games by those standards instead of the raw feelings they give me
i get bothered by games that try to meet those standards but fall short of them, and i appreciate games that seemingly arent concerned with those standards at all. anyways thats why this game is actually better than aus.

did you buy as much stuff as you can from the shop in the city? i think some of em are jump upgrades
alternatively if there are any blue orbs you can see but cant figure out how to reach, look for fake walls nearby

i like that several powerups add a whole new key each time, i think thats a pretty good idea for a hubol game
every key is a different janky powerup

that was the concept of my untitled tower game, except there are only nine powerups, so by the end of the game you "only" need to manage nine different keys

that cloudzone iz a powerhouse do, one explosion form those fuzzi bois takes like 1/4 away from my health lmao

the hardest part of the game isn't the bossest, but rather the lead up to them

when the snow area boss is just a reskin of the cloud area boss

except the snow area boss was way easier because the moves are totally random
most of the bosses in this game are pretty similar, its pretty funny

im playing this again and i finally got to the damn cloud area boss without getting exploded. ive got 176 health this fuckers going down

its funny how to get the gm piece and one of the hearts in ghost area you just have to jump off a cliff and redo earlier parts of the level

its funny how the final area has all this stuff that wasnt used anywhere else in the game, it feels like the creator just gave up at some point and cobbled together a bunch of leftover assets. lol what a cute game 10/10

something i think is really funny about the ghost house is how the red and blue ghosts are placed like theyre impervious obstacles, e.g. most of the rooms are totally doable without taking damage. but turns out the red ghosts can be destroyed by fire and blue by ice. wacky

i got there before, but i couldn't progress past the third screen because i can't jump high enough

its easy to troubleshoot when you describe any symptoms, error messages, steps to reproduce, etc

the game literally just stays open in task manager, but there are no visuals of it actually working

i thought the download link in the first post already has it converted though so thats probably not it.....

Yeah, same thought here. The old "shows in task man but not on-screen" is what happens with unconverted GM6 games. Requires conversion on Vista and later, if memory serves.
