there's twine too, which is mainly used for choose your own adventure type games, but i'm pretty sure you can do enough scripting and styling to randomise elements or add rpg battle systems or whatever. and it'll integrate into other things like unity projects to handle dialogue systems.

i was using haxeflixel a while back for a few projects, and that seemed pretty good too for more general 2d stuff.

i get what you mean about aus btw.

i think compared to a lot of other metroidvanias, there's a lot less combat and a lot more platforming, and the player character being so small on screen gives it a different vibe to other games too. it makes the world feel a lot bigger.

they said the new game they're working on, earthblade, is going to be an "exploraction" game, so it sounds like that might be the jumper->celeste equivalent for aus.

oh yeah she-ra's absolutely on my "watch it eventually" list, but i have a weird amount of trouble watching shows where all the episodes are already out unless it's a miniseries. like it's way easier for me to follow a show if i catch it when it's first starting, otherwise i end up watching too much at once, burning out and never going back. netflix et al's whole model is kryptonite to me.

guess i'll just have to force myself to stick to one episode a day or something.

oh yeah i heard that was happening. i haven't actually watched any amphibia yet, kind of fell off watching cartoons outside of ducktales, harley quinn and infinity train when that comes back this month, how is it?

also i just remembered the gravity falls bit in wander over yonder (rip)

i think if you hold down the button youd use to restart (iirc it might just be left click) and let go before it fully fades to black itll jiggle the kitty enough to get loose from the loop.

yeah it was good. im kinda curious if theyre gonna keep steven just being kind of a tactless dick now, like how he just ditched spinel as soon as he got what he wanted from her, immediately after hearing about how his mom did the exact same thing. and then how he palmed her off again minutes later. it seemed out of step with his character up til now, so itd be interesting if theyre intentionally writing him to have negative character development.

i suddenly got really into factorio again recently after last playing it 5 years ago. now ive stopped caring about neatness and planning for the future and started enjoying just working around the spaghetti mess of conveyor belts i keep leaving for myself, im making a lot more progress.

expert mario maker is wild, the races they do at gdq are a good watch if you haven't seen those already. not as high level as they can get, but theyre fun.

yeah demons souls is great, and it does a bunch of cool things that i dont think any of the other souls games have done, like how the boss of the tower of latria act 2 works and the world tendency system
