I've distrohopped a bit over the years, and used a lot of Windows, but yeah I am running Bazzite right now.  Popped into their Discord to scan for info, but Discord search is really really bad.

I like the idea of an immutable distro.  It's a bit of a pain to have to run a container for some things, but there's a certain cleanliness to it that I appreciate.  I like Fedora for being a good balance of bleeding edge and stable, and KDE is just a nice DE.

One day I might lose my mind enough to get into NixOS, but I'm not that far gone yet.

Re: permissions, Mr. Frenchies, they're something I have to deal with when working with servers, but don't seem to come up much in regular desktop use.  Though I can understand the pain of needing to mark things executable, finding the right octet value, and wondering what a "sticky bit" is.
As someone at work told me, "immutable distros are for idiots". I try not to talk to that person about Linux anymore. I'd definitely break something on Arch anyway, it's enough of a pain getting WINE to work with exes sometimes.

I can't believe it's been ten years since we relaunched the forum.  How in the heck
I noticed you're in the Bazzite discord, it's the only server we share apparently.

If any of you have heard of Archipelago, it's a cross-game randomizer where items are distributed across multiple different games. When someone else gets an item for you in their game, it's sent to you, and vice versa.

An Untitled Story has its own Archipelago mod that's pretty functional, I've contributed to it a little bit despite my lack of coding skill. Just thought it might be a little more interesting if any of you did want to replay it but were too familiar with it.

When am I officially old? I know I'm probably younger than most of you guys but I'm nearly out of my twenties by now.
I guess it's more of a state of mind thing.

Hope everyone has been well recently by the way, I haven't checked here in a while. I finally got fed up with Windows and installed Linux. Been mostly smooth so far.

No major updates from me I think. Just always keeping busy with music and game projects! Biggest thing is I kind of even more gave up on having a social media presence after everyone switched to the latest pointless platform. I think it is best for me not to really participate at this point. (Sorry to anyone having fun with that)

i was wondering what my next "life goal" will be since i'm almost able to afford a house and not sure what i'll do after. do people normally have major goals they work towards? is it okay to not have any?

Projects, projects, projects!!! Gotta have your own!!! Oh and maybe learning to cook new recipes. I am now able to "cook" "stir fry" (Cook rice in a pot while frozen vegetables and spam heat up in an oily, seasoned skillet) with 70% success rate. And after you've completed every project and learned every recipe you have to get level 99 in all stats in runescape
I'm kinda glad I never got into the whole "social media" thing. Had a facebook as a kid (when I was underage for it, ironically) but stopped using it. Platforms like Twitter just seems destroying to peoples' mental wellbeing and I honestly don't see why any individual would use it. Corporations, sure - platform to advertise and gain PR points, but from what I've seen individuals just suffer there.

retro games are cool though some feel a bit clunky when i try to play them nowadays. i know very little about street fighter though.

hmm well

my memory is really bad, so i understand if people don't remember me, because it's unlikely i remember them if i havent interacted with them a lot, haha

i guess it's nice though? i wouldnt say it would affect me a lot though

i think they probably remember the people that made an impact. they definitely remembers sylvie, hubol and wes. i was never really a relevant person so i doubt they remember me but i'm fine with that
