this is 99% headcanon but i think battler is more of a socially awkward dumbass than a creepy jerk, it's a thin line though. he's trying to fake confidence by being a jokester but sometimes takes it too far and doesn't know how to walk things back.

imo george is way more of a creep. just a really controlling Nice Guy who thinks he's put all the kindness coins in and wants to see a return on that investment.
