oh did you not play with original sprites, or did the fanpatch only change backgrounds/cgs? i think the original sprites are incredibly charming and all the updated ones ive seen are either outright bad or kinda bland.... the "photograph with a million shitty filters on it" backgrounds are kind of charming too but not to the same extent so i can see why itd be fun to swap em out
