Cute Discussion / Re: Gonna make some more indie games featuring Anti-cubes

this forum feels cozy in general rly like I appreciate the randomized news bulletin that reminds me of the existence of the ChuckleVision show, just in time for my personal deep dive into old CBBC channel Flash player games that somehow are still hosted on the official website (not worth playing tbh - it's called You Make Me Sick and popped up in my mind somehow - really childish and incredibly noisy spoken menu sounds)

yo yambam - did you used to go by another name? ive been trying to keep up with everyone's name changes but ngl i think it's just been too long my brain has kinda exploded
Hi! I wasn't a long forum (at all) user if I'm honest. I mainly used game dev for my quick productivity bursts like short-lived hobby projects that seem playable enough to post somewhere... like such a case where I ported Jumper Two (one of my all-time favorite games) to Android for fun since I got lucky with Game Maker Studio discount. I got a hunch that's probably my only other topic on here... Btw hey are you q ? Because if so I remember you uploaded wallpapers (in Jumper Two they were unlockables) which you still had on disk, to my hosted website's interactive guestbook where I requested for them lol
before anyone gets an unwarranted 404, I'll just note that there might be some broken links in that previous topic. Also super random this dancing banana gif gives such a warm nostalgia  that ol' peanut butter jelly time song

Thanks for the warm welcome back and jolly review. About the vertical mouse sensitivity you're experiencing right, yes that does feel too fast I'll tune it down from 0.15 to 0.1 (for the ratio from px to degrees). Hahah I understand the track without video (its intro especially) doesn't make sense, the track is LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem. I almost forgot that this song existed, just gave me a massive throwback to the 2010s. Anyway I just riddened the song from the game. Brings me to the reason I suspect the virus detection (thanks for the zip advice btw, I'll follow!), lol I imported a youtube downloader python module specially for that song which is (cool but) dumb

Hiya.  Welcome back after a long hiatus.

It sounded interesting, so I gave it a download.  I'm not looking to cast any aspersions, but Chrome and Windows Defender were both very grumpy about this file, as were two detection engines in VirusTotal.  So I think I'll run within Windows Sandbox, just to be safe.  You might have better luck distributing as a zip than an exe download, though.

So I had a little trouble playing the game.  My vertical mouse sensitivity seems turned up to 11, and I'm unable to look around without my camera shooting straight up or down.  I was able to jump around a little bit though, and it reminded me of Minecraft Classic.  Looks like number keys set your chosen block (or anti-cube I guess).

The logo introduction is nice, as is the rain effect.  I was a little confused by the audio track.

Hi I'm Yambam :orange: I'm so excited to show you a Minecraft spin-off using anti-cubes first, I know not very original but that allowed me to grasp 3D in Python a bit. :lemon: LimãoCraft lmfao before you ask I don't speak Portuguese¿ I'm gonna make some isometric platformer game in Game Maker 8.2 (pretty cool community mod of version 8.1) with challenging jumps like Jumper, possibly with an online level pack editor. With the same shape you know because I love anti-cubes (it's a silly name for cube slabs with (cube-)octahedron cuts to make the 8 corners look smooth)

Latest binary!! Lol
Screenshots: (these outdated but that wrong shading made them appear hella cool)

((sorry despite my excitement that lead to me putting the ground version number at version 30 it's basically prototype stage, it does save and load your single playable world so I figured it's ready for y'all to playtest))

First try?!?! dayum! it took us 16 attempts hahahahaha! after a lot of configuraion, we ended with two guardians just blocking and trying to pull focus from the recluse doing all the damage. the guardians also had a bunch of status effects to apply too.

elden ring dlc is very pretty! a lot of cool stuff there. several fun parry fights there :-)

Well, lost the win streak at 8, so I took a crack at Everdark.  The first team of randos I got was fantastic.  Great synergy in dropping items for each other, and level 15 before the Night 2 boss.  I as raider went down once, but otherwise it was a clean sweep.

Definitely a spectacle of a fight.  Makes me want to get back into Elden Ring proper and actually play through the DLC.
