q here. i used to have gigabytes of helikc x memorabilia (woulda had even more but the hd was 52 gigs split between seven people so. had to delete a lot of wacky shit as soon as i was done with it). the harddrive (upgraded to 200gb) went the way of a reddit copypasta after badwolfs bois attacked me irl. they wanted me to provide twitch comments or something equally vapid. smdh

anyway, i woulda kept librarypostin but a) aforementioned bois tried to molest me at the library (multiple times. they were punching windows and shit) and the staff was starting to lose their patience + b) cooks cuteyzone has a be-cute stipulation and i dont do cute

I think a lot of the music probably came from vgmusic.com originally.  It was pretty common for those in the GameMaker community to source tracks from there at the time.  Though I did a quick search and don't see anything from Ben Briggs listed there.

basically almost every song in jumper besides the credits song from opposing forces (a sample from some music editing software) is from vgmusic. oh yeah and mountain king from j2e 4.0

try earthquakes theme from samurai shodown, sturms song from advance wars, delfino plaza from mario sunshine, etc

I've decided to help out in preserving the wallpapers by uploading them to the Internet Archive and backing up this forum's mirrors of the wallpapers on the Wayback Machine just to be safe. (1, 2)

Because the original versions of the Jumper 2 wallpapers are a bit too small to be used as intended nowadays (as pointed out by SquareWheel), I decided to create a handful of custom variants for both images in a few different resolutions so that they can actually be used as wallpapers on modern displays. (Available on Google Drive along with a quick guide for what size to use in the readme)

I made sure that the upscaled variants retain all details present in their original counterparts, not changing a single thing about Pondwater's original designs (I also made sure to avoid AI when upscaling all the assets; I manually resized the sprites in Aseprite and assembled the rest of the wallpapers in Photoshop). The only notable change I made was resizing the sprites on the right side of each wallpaper, which was done to improve the image clarity and to make better use of the larger file resolutions. Asides from that though, these upscaled wallpapers are essentially as close to Pondwater's originals as I could get them but actually usable on current screens.

Nice work.  You've clearly put a lot of effort into recovering and restoring these files.  The 4K images look great to my eyes.
