Fifty years of history, distilled
« on: December 15, 2018, 03:40:36 AM »
Somewhere, some time ago, someone wanted to copulate with a canine, so they made a pact with the devil.
The devil created the internet in response; a direct line of communication with the abstract, allowing that same someone to pose the question "Is it OK to fuck dogs?" to the gods.
And thus, we ended up where we are today.

So whenever something goes bad or everything just seems terrible, always remember: things are the way they are because someone really wanted to screw the pooch.

Tinny I was thinking of you the other day.  How are you?

Oh, you know, living life one day at a time.

Which is great for surviving in the now, but pretty terrible for accomplishing any progress or improvements.

I was also given the responsibility of keeping a dog alive, so that's pretty cool.

You?

So is it ennui, then?  That's basically been me for the last ten years or so.  Easier to get moving if you have a direction in mind, I suppose.

I was thinking of buying a plant.  That's kind of like a dog.  Exciting times, these are.

I've literally never heard that word before. Is it like anhedonia?

My track record for keeping plants alive is pretty dismal.

Anhedonia seems to be more medical.  Ennui is more like a vague feeling or sense.  You might have heard the word before without realizing as it's pronounced "on-wee".  Or if you read IPA, /ɑnˈwi/.

I was thinking I'd try something resilient like a snake plant.  They look kinda funky anyway.

On the plant front, some herbs are pretty aggressive growers, and hard to kill

I've heard.  Thyme, oregano, and mint are supposed to be rather invasive.

Can confirm that mint is easy and grows fast, grew it from a live pot from the supermarket once. Yeah you have to pot it if you are growing it in a garden, or it can take over like an aggressive weed. Also have some thyme, which has grown decently without supervision.
