Anyone still have Jumper Two sectors?
« on: August 26, 2022, 09:01:20 AM »
Hi there. I used to be semi-active on the helix forums twenty million years ago and it's kind of wild to see some old names I recognize, but I'm not really here to reconnect with old friends or anything. I'm not sure what name I used but I wasn't really notable enough that you'd remember me.

I got hit by a bit of a nostalgia wave for Jumper Two and wanted to see if I could find a few user-made sectors to play, but there isn't exactly a vibrant J2 community in 2022. Found this place though. Anyone have any?

Unfortunately we never really built a stable archive.  quakster had a ton but he's no longer active.

Actually it looks like we do have a zip hosted with the website.  Not sure what their quality is, but give this a try.

Nice, thanks.

Glad I found this forum, even if I'm probably not going to stick around to post. It's nice to see a little fragment of my childhood still alive in some fashion.

i think that sector archive is actually pretty extensive, it is the most complete one i know of :honeydew: and i doubt anyone from outside this community put together a bigger one without our knowledge....

Windows Defender thinks the old J2E versions have trojans in them. Hilarious.

The way GameMaker used to work was by packaging the runner with the game data.  I could see that triggering a false positive.

I host the editors and - to the best of my memory - got them directly from Maddy's site when she released them.  They should be perfectly safe.  Though no promises about them running under Windows 11.

Imagine a Jumper Two Editor that was integrated into a game like Mario Maker 2. That would be a neat idea. Tryna beat Bonesaw Castle is probably the closest I'll ever get to playing Kaizo.

What the hell, I made some of these sectors when I was eleven years old.

The Factory is actually dated 2008 so I was ten years old when I made it. Wow.

That would be pretty nifty.  Though honestly I suspect that the cameo in Super Meat Boy was the last we'll see of the little guy.

Heck, I don't remember if I did.  I enjoyed it though.  Good music.

Ha, I was thinking of that game earlier today!

Weren't there some secret levels beyond "The End"?

There's 1000 coins in the 40 normal levels, the last 10 to get the golden statue are in the secret levels.
