Gonna make some more indie games featuring Anti-cubes
« on: September 14, 2025, 03:49:31 AM »
Hi I'm Yambam :orange: I'm so excited to show you a Minecraft spin-off using anti-cubes first, I know not very original but that allowed me to grasp 3D in Python a bit. :lemon: LimãoCraft lmfao before you ask I don't speak Portuguese¿ I'm gonna make some isometric platformer game in Game Maker 8.2 (pretty cool community mod of version 8.1) with challenging jumps like Jumper, possibly with an online level pack editor. With the same shape you know because I love anti-cubes (it's a silly name for cube slabs with (cube-)octahedron cuts to make the 8 corners look smooth)

Latest binary!! Lol
Screenshots: (these outdated but that wrong shading made them appear hella cool)

((sorry despite my excitement that lead to me putting the ground version number at version 30 it's basically prototype stage, it does save and load your single playable world so I figured it's ready for y'all to playtest))

Hiya.  Welcome back after a long hiatus.

It sounded interesting, so I gave it a download.  I'm not looking to cast any aspersions, but Chrome and Windows Defender were both very grumpy about this file, as were two detection engines in VirusTotal.  So I think I'll run within Windows Sandbox, just to be safe.  You might have better luck distributing as a zip than an exe download, though.

So I had a little trouble playing the game.  My vertical mouse sensitivity seems turned up to 11, and I'm unable to look around without my camera shooting straight up or down.  I was able to jump around a little bit though, and it reminded me of Minecraft Classic.  Looks like number keys set your chosen block (or anti-cube I guess).

The logo introduction is nice, as is the rain effect.  I was a little confused by the audio track.

Thanks for the warm welcome back and jolly review. About the vertical mouse sensitivity you're experiencing right, yes that does feel too fast I'll tune it down from 0.15 to 0.1 (for the ratio from px to degrees). Hahah I understand the track without video (its intro especially) doesn't make sense, the track is LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem. I almost forgot that this song existed, just gave me a massive throwback to the 2010s. Anyway I just riddened the song from the game. Brings me to the reason I suspect the virus detection (thanks for the zip advice btw, I'll follow!), lol I imported a youtube downloader python module specially for that song which is (cool but) dumb
