I used Linux for work. It was OK. I like that normal keyboard shortcuts work on it. (macos shortcuts make me very sad!) However basic sound and video things did not work properly and I did not feel like troubleshooting them anymore after a couple hours of running random commands without any improvement. I also found the permissions on directories and files extremely annoying. Another thing that I just don’t have the patience to figure out.

So I still use Windows, but I have disabled the updates. Updated software generally seems to be worse but also I am pretty cynical. Blah blah security. Whatever. My computer turns on and quickly obeys me!

I've distrohopped a bit over the years, and used a lot of Windows, but yeah I am running Bazzite right now.  Popped into their Discord to scan for info, but Discord search is really really bad.

I like the idea of an immutable distro.  It's a bit of a pain to have to run a container for some things, but there's a certain cleanliness to it that I appreciate.  I like Fedora for being a good balance of bleeding edge and stable, and KDE is just a nice DE.

One day I might lose my mind enough to get into NixOS, but I'm not that far gone yet.

Re: permissions, Mr. Frenchies, they're something I have to deal with when working with servers, but don't seem to come up much in regular desktop use.  Though I can understand the pain of needing to mark things executable, finding the right octet value, and wondering what a "sticky bit" is.

As someone at work told me, "immutable distros are for idiots". I try not to talk to that person about Linux anymore. I'd definitely break something on Arch anyway, it's enough of a pain getting WINE to work with exes sometimes.
