me too but i think nostalgia's a heavy factor. i know the game back to front but i think modern me would probably get frustrated at the sometimes unclear path of progression if i were playing it for the first time today. though i still think untitled does the map better than most metroidvanias today lol.

i dont think untitled is better, i just prefer exploration games in general.

any cutie game devs have recommendations for minimalist 2d level editors? up to now ive just been using my own things but i dont feel like doing that for my current project.

That was sort of the goal of the Ogmo Editor.  Apparently there's a community maintained version of it now?  Oh what the heck Hubs has contributed to it too.  Must be good then.

oh yeah I remembered hubs using the ogom editor years ago, i was wondering if it would still be kicking though given how old it is. didn't know it went open source that's kinda cool

celeste is for gamers who want a perfectly calculated and finetuned speedrunning experience and untitled is for people who want to download weird midis and mspaint drawings off archived 2000s webpages

i think celeste is a cool casual game too (i had super fun with it). i think it's more just the genre. also the lack of polish had a charm too
